“Iberia Express, a Spanish airline, has repatriated 170 passengers and crew members from a plane at Ben Gurion Airport on Friday.
The first military aircraft operated by the Ministry of Defense departed from Tel Aviv, Israel, and transported over 200 Spanish citizens, European Union citizens, and foreign residents in Spain to Torrejón de Ardoz, Madrid, which is the designated immigration site.
Jose Manuel Albares, the Acting Deputy Minister for Diplomacy, European Union, and Cooperation, expressed gratitude to the Spanish Foreign Ministry team, the Spanish Embassy in Israel, and the Spanish Consulate in Jerusalem through a social media post, acknowledging their role in ensuring the protection and safety of Spain from external threats.
The first flight departed from Madrid at 3:30 PM on Tuesday and is scheduled to arrive in Spain on Wednesday morning.
Meanwhile, Margarita Robles, the Minister of Defense, has sent a second plane from her department to evacuate the remaining 500 Spanish nationals. However, due to organizational issues, the second plane is set to depart on Wednesday morning, upon the request of the Israeli Embassy.”
